We would like to clarify our PE and sports program. Our 7th and 8th-graders will all be participating in the games on Friday vs Vina, Plaza, and Lake as part of our PE program and R.E.A.L. League. I've attached the schedule. 6th grade will not be playing in the Friday games because we are matching the program of the other schools, and we would have too many students to get on the court/field. 6th graders will still be practicing for that sport during PE, building skills that will benefit them in 7th and 8th grade.
Additionally, we are happy to announce that we will be holding an optional practice every Tuesday for all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who want to participate. Optional practices will run from 3:00 to 4:00 and start on 9/2 until the end of the season. We may not have a practice every week, and we will be working on scheduling scrimmages against Walden, Providence, and Hamilton Elementary during this time. Scrimmages may run a little after 4:00, depending on the start time that works for the other schools. We are providing this as an ungraded bonus opportunity to continue to build relationships with other schools and allow 6th graders to get some playing time as well. Please note that we will do our best to allocate playing time in scrimmages to all players who attend the optional practices. Still, it may be challenging (depending on the number of students interested in participating).
We appreciate your patience while we were getting this sorted out and are looking forward to another fun season. These expectations are specific to our volleyball and flag football season, and we may be making changes for the upcoming basketball and softball seasons to best benefit our student athletes and align with our PE program.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Go Colts!
